Safety first: burning instructions for optimal enjoyment of your candle

The crackling sound, the warm glow and the wonderful scent that spreads. Do you also love the cozy atmosphere that candles bring into your home? It is important to remember that burning candles also involves risks. Hustle & Spice therefore shares a number of burning instructions, so that you can enjoy your candle carefree and safely. Read them carefully before you light the candle.

1. Correct wick length

Before lighting the candle, trim the wick to 0.5 cm. A wick that is too long can cause the candle to flicker or smoke

2. Extinguish the candle safely

Extinguish the candle if it smokes, the flame is too high or the flame is too close to the edge of the glass. Use a candle holder to extinguish the candle. This prevents splattering candle wax.

3. Limit the burning time

Never burn a candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Overheating can cause glass to break.

4. Keep an eye on things

Never leave candles burning unattended and never burn a candle near anything that is flammable. Keep burning candles away from furniture, curtains, flammable decorations etc. Always make sure someone is nearby when a candle is burning.

5. Moving burning candles

Avoid moving a burning candle. This minimizes the risk of accidents and injuries.

6. Distance between multiple candles

When burning multiple candles at once, place them at least 10cm apart to maintain a safe distance.

7. Heat resistant surface

Always place the candle on a heat-resistant surface to prevent damage to surfaces.

8. Well-ventilated area

Even though Hustle & Spice candles are eco-friendly, make sure to burn your candle in a well-ventilated area to maintain healthy air quality.

9. Keep out of reach of children and pets

Keep burning candles out of the reach of children and pets to avoid accidents.

10. Blow out in time

Blow out the candle when it is only 1 cm from the bottom. The heat development can cause the glass to break.
